Twizel is located in the heart of the Mackenzie Country in Canterbury New Zealand. The Mackenzie Country is world-renowned for its stunning azure-coloured lakes, tussock-clad hills and mountain vistas.
Twizel is an ideal stop-over for those travelling between Christchurch and Queenstown, and is the perfect base for exploring Mount Cook and the Mackenzie area. Twizel is within easy reach to Mount Cook Village and the Tasman Glacier. It is also located near Lake Ruataniwha, which is home to the New Zealand Rowing Championships. The lake is also popular for sailing and water skiing.
